Sherry Pitts is chief executive officer of Woman’s Hospital, a position she has held since 2004. Associated with the hospital’s parent organization, Health Management Associates, Inc., since 1999, she is a registered nurse and has many years of experience in health care with a focus on administrative leadership.
She earned a Master of Health Administration degree in health administration from Tulane University; Bachelor of Science degree from Belhaven University and an Associate of Arts degree in nursing from Hinds Community College.
Active in community organizations, Ms. Pitts is the current chair of the Greater Jackson Area’s March of Dimes Walk America and also serves as a board member for the organization. Additionally, she serves on the board of the Flowood Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the American Heart Association’s Circle of Red. She has served as past president of the Central Mississippi Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure; member of the Mississippi Affiliate of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Flowood Kiwanis Club board member.
Throughout her career, Ms. Pitts has been recognized by area organizations for exemplifying excellence in employee leadership and an executive level position.
