Jeanne Fortenberry has served as Chief Nursing Executive of Woman’s Hospital since 2005. She has 31 years of nursing experience, including positions as Nurse Manager and Director of Education at River Oaks Hospital. In 2011, she was named Chief Nursing Officer of the Year for Health Management Associates’ Mississippi division and 2012 Outstanding Volunteer Individual of the Year by the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
Jeanne earned a Masters in Healthcare Administration at Capella University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a member of American College of Healthcare Executives, Mississippi Organization of Nurse Executives, Mississippi Hospital Association and Flowood Rotary.
Giving back to the community, especially those related to the healthcare industry, is one of her main goals. She has served as chairman of March of Dimes Tri-County WalkAmerica and on the planning committee for the organization’s 2012 Signature Chefs; race chair and board member for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure; Make-A-Wish Foundation’s “Night for Wishes” chairman and planning chairman for Woman’s Hospital’s Make-A-Wish fundraiser, Peace, Love and Wishes.
