River Oaks Hospital and Woman’s Hospital Announce 2008 Volunteer of the Year

River Oaks Hospital and Woman’s Hospital recently honored their most outstanding volunteer by hosting a special recognition luncheon. Receiving votes from her peers, Doris Ray was awarded volunteer of the year for 2008. Ms. Ray has volunteered at the hospitals for ten years and has 2,836 volunteer hours.  

She is active in the volunteer auxiliary.  She has served twice as Second Vice President and Program Chairman of the volunteer auxiliary. She models and sells jewelry at the four auxiliary-sponsored jewelry sales each year at the hospital.  She is currently working on the volunteer scrapbook.  

Ms. Ray sings in her church choir and is actively involved in politics.  She is a proud mother of a son and daughter and grandmother of four grandsons and one granddaughter.
