Chief Nursing Officer

Jeanne Fortenberry has been Chief Nursing Officer for Woman’s Hospital since January 2005. She has 27 years of nursing experience, including positions as Nurse Manager and Director of Education at River Oaks Hospital.

Fortenberry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi and is pursuing a Masters in Healthcare Administration at Capella University.  She is a member of American College of Healthcare Executives, Mississippi Organization of Nurse Executives, Mississippi Hospital Association and Flowood Rotary.

She is active in her community, including the honor of being a two time past president of the March of Dimes WalkAmerica. Fortenberry was the 2007 Chairman of the Make-A-Wish "Night-for-Wishes", 2008 Nightingale Awards Planning Committee member and the 2009 Co-Chairman of the Komen Race for the Cure.

Fortenberry is a member of Newhebron United Methodist Church, where she serves as church pianist. Jeanne and her husband of 30 years, Robert C. Fortenberry, Jr., have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
