But, as amazing as technology is, there is no way to accurately depict 33 years of treasured memories that began in a hospital whose caring and compassion have touched the lives of thousands of families. Woman's Hospital was opened in 1975 by a group of Jackson obstetricians and gynecologists who wanted to operate a new type of hospital for women and infants.
Known as the premier hospital of its kind in Mississippi, Woman's offered a new alternative for women who wanted superior medical treatment, and most importantly, personal care. That same level of service is still offered today, in this our 33rd year. Woman's Hospital, which is now part of River Oaks Healthcare, is known throughout Mississippi as a hospital that provides the most modern medical care, coupled with a high level of personal attention and pampering. A lot has changed in 33 years - a renovation project has enlarged and modernized many of the patient rooms, and more expansion is planned for the future. Most importantly, critical lifesaving care is available for premature infants and others who require special medical attention. However, one thing hasn't changed - Woman's Hospital's commitment to offer premier maternity and health services for women. It's a promise our founders made in 1975, and it's one we'll continue to follow as we begin our next 30 years. With its convenient Flowood location that is just minutes from downtown Jackson, as well as Interstates 55 and 20, Woman's Hospital is the healthcare facility of choice for thousands of central Mississippians each year.
